Dr Elizabeth Achinewhu-Nworgu
Dr Elizabeth Achinewhu-Nworgu is the founder/CEO of Focus Learning Support Ltd (FLS). As an international consultant, Dr Achinewhu has been involved in a wide range of training and development initiatives. Her success in bringing in consultancies for different educational and training organizations as well as NGOs, in the UK motivated her setting up FLS in 2003, with the primary aim of promoting student retention, achievement, widening participation and youth development.
Elizabeth has been a Lecturer and Curriculum Team Leader in Business, Human Resource Management and Law for over fourteen years; working in various UK universities, notably Birkbeck-University of London, University of East London and Westminster, with her main focus being the development of strategies promoting student retention and achievement. She has held several seminars promoting academic success in higher and further education institutions at national and international level. Her responsibilities in education include mentoring and developing Trainee teachers, curriculum development, youth engagment and career development.
Prior to her academic responsibilities in education as an Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of FLS, Dr Achinewhu-Nworgu has over twenty years industrial experience gained with the UK National Health Service, the HRM and with Finance departments of Local Government Authorities and working within the Chief Executive department. She has actively been involved in delivering consultancy services about portfolios of human resource management, personnel development, organizational behaviours and corporate social responsibility.
Elizabeth gained her Doctorate Degree in Education and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education and Training (PGCE) from the University of Greenwich. Her Doctorate degree thesis focused upon investigating nine key strategies that promote student retention and achievement in London FE colleges. Dr. Achinewhu obtained her Masters' degrees in Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Laws (LLM) from the University of East London and a Post Graduate Diploma in Management Studies from Kingston University in Surrey.
Dr Elizabeth Achinewhu-Nworgu is a member of the Comparative Education Societies, Fellow Member of IFL, Chartered Member of Management Institute and an Associate Member of Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). As a result of her lifetime in academic studies, she is fully committed and involved in the development of youth engagement in education and creativity, through seminars, motivational guest speaking, TV debates, student support, counseling and sharing good practice.
She is an Author of a book titled “Determined to Succeed-overcoming personal and Institutional barriers which she launched in June 2011 with over two hundred (200) copies sold on the day of the launching.
As a Motivational Speaker and Consultant; she has been engaged in various consultancy and skilled based national and international presentations in helping organisations to manage change, working with universities and colleges giving seminars on tips for academic success; promoting student retention, and achievement; assisting organisations to address cultural diversity and organising TV seminars and debates on youth educational issues and engagement.

In 2008, She was called to a Jury service at Southwark Crown Court where she demonstrated her skills and knowledge in Human Right’s Law as one of her specialism and academic studies.
Dr Elizabeth is an active member of Highbury and Islington community in the UK, promoting education and widening participation for all with particular interest in disadvantaged youth and women participation in education and Business. Her educational enrichment activities for the Youths and adult learners are highly appreciated by the recipents,encouraging students' participation in academic studies, hence boosting student retention and achievement in UK education institutions.
